As the stewards of golf courses in New York State, superintendents are dedicated to protecting New York’s natural resources and maintaining these facilities in harmony with the natural environment. As a demonstration of this commitment, superintendents partnered with Cornell University scientists to develop best management practices (BMPs) specifically for New York for the protection of water quality in golf course management operations. The resulting 2014 publication of Best Management Practices for New York State Golf Courses and this accompanying website represents a comprehensive approach to BMPs for golf courses, an approach that gained national attention.
Since 2014, additional publications have integrated the latest research and expanded upon the original BMPs, providing the information superintendents need to know. These publications include the following:
- BMPs for Pollinators (FlippingBook version)
- Annual Bluegrass Weevils (FlippingBook version)
- Nutrient Management Planning (FlippingBook version)
- Best Management Practices for New York State Golf Courses, 2nd edition (PDF)]
